FAQ · Location & Basics
What is the altitude of Merzouga?
Merzouga sits at about 700–800 metres above sea level.
That altitude keeps desert nights noticeably cooler than many visitors expect, especially from November to February, so pack a warm evening layer. It also means slightly milder summer mornings than the low-lying Sahara further south — welcome news for sunrise dune climbers.
