How far is Merzouga from Erfoud and Rissani?
Erfoud is about 55 km (an hour) away and Rissani about 35–40 km (40 minutes).
Erfoud is famous for its fossil workshops and Rissani for its lively souk and the Alaouite dynasty’s ancestral mausoleum. Both are easy half-day trips and useful stops for ATMs and fuel.
